I have lived in Leamington all of my life and have always had a love of football; my very earliest memories are of watching games at the original Windmill ground back when the team was Lockheed and subsequently AP Leamington. My first memory of the ground was watching us play Fisher Athletic; probably just over 40 years ago.

Since then I have always taken a keen interest in football locally and I  was delighted to be asked to join the community section of The Brakes as a coach 10 years ago. Since then I have worked not only with the boys teams but also have now served on the committee as vice chairman for four years.

Around two years ago when plans were first put in place for the Charity I was nominated to be Senior Trustee of the Trust. Whilst we have been hindered with the restrictions imposed by COVID my colleagues have driven forward securing funding allowing us to deliver sessions in local schools helping to dramatically improve mental and physical health.

As we come out of the pandemic and restrictions lift I’m more passionate then ever to develop the Charity and the events we offer.

I have been involved with Brakes Community Foundation CIO since Mid-2020. While plans are in place to broaden our presence within the local community, progress has of course been slowed due to the pandemic. However, some projects have been rolled out and the feedback from schools and other participants has been greatly encouraging.

The Foundation offers more than just football, it’s also general health, mental wellbeing, nutrition to name but a few.

The club and the community foundation are so much more that football on Saturday afternoon. We have an important part to play to engage with the surrounding areas offering a path that allows  the participants to deal with life’s challenges and I am very proud to be involved.

I live with my wife, son and the family dog in Hertfordshire.

Originally from Denmark, I have lived, studied and worked in and around the Midlands for most of my life, so feel more British than most Brits! I work as a Property Surveyor and run a property company with my two business partners in and around Warwickshire. I’ve been a Nottingham Forest supporter for as long as I can remember, and old enough to remember the Cloughy glory days. Currently living in Kenilworth with my lovely partner Adriana and two energetic young kids (Marie and Niko), who I’d hope grow up to have more ball skills than their old man!

I feel football and team sports in general are a great foundation for young kids to get exercise, make friends, achieve goals and help give them a structured foundation for life and the challenges it brings. By joining the Community Foundation as a Trustee I hope to give kids and young adults more of an opportunity to join the great work that we do with Leamington Football club and give something back to the community.”
